Summary

It is imperative that health care providers understand the regulatory and legal concerns surrounding the ever-changing medical and recreational cannabis laws. Aleah will focus on both federal and state laws, and will discuss the risks and benefits of various medical cannabis policies. Aleah will present resources for sample policies, administration considerations, and key resources to mitigate risk. In one hour, attendees will come away with tangible tools they can use to make definitive decisions on the issue, based on the latest legal and regulatory developments.

This is an important topic which is often ignored by providers. The state laws are rapidly changing, and federal laws may soon change as well. Providers need to determine how to handle cannabis use in their facilities, as more adults in the U.S. embrace the use of medical and recreational cannabis. Aleah is one of only a handful of health care attorneys in the U.S. who are also well versed on cannabis laws. She has been presenting on this topic for many years.
