Summary

CMS continues to drive the narrative on functional outcomes with changes to the MDS, Quality Reporting and Value Based Purchasing Programs. Compounded by case-mix changes and additional measures to Ohio's QIP, providers need to achieve and accurately capture good functional outcomes. This course will review the changes to each program with focus on functional outcomes measures, particularly those measures contained within Ohio's Quality Program. We will review best practices, competencies, and programming required to achieve good clinical and financial results. Strategies for collaboration and communication will be demonstrated for accurate capture on the MDS for rate setting and quality programs.

In preparation for this course, the presenter draws on the vast experience and knowledge of our MDS and therapy teams to establish best practices that work to ensure that clinical functional levels are maintained and/or improved and then captured on the MDS. These best practices are root cause driven so an emphasis will be placed on communication and competency. Case studies with actual QM results will be reviewed. The involvement and impact of therapy is changing because of this! Are our members prepared?
