Summary

This webinar will focus on positioning and promoting palliative care effectively to help build relationships earlier in the continuum of care -- which also can impact quality metrics including transitions of care, patient conversion rates and HH/CAHPS scores. Details include communicating palliative care outcomes data that align with referrer goals. The overall goal of is to educate providers of palliative care about positioning and marketing their services in ways that improve their own quality metrics while supporting their referrers' quality goals. Palliative care is still widely misunderstood, even among physicians and other referral sources. Research by Center to Advance Palliative Care shows that many physicians don't distinguish between palliative care and hospice care -- contributing to undesirable referral patterns to both service lines.

Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to evaluate their current brand and positioning for optimal opportunities in implementing palliative care
  • Participants will be able to define the role of palliative care in their agency’s quality measures and align the language of messaging to support their quality goals
  • Participants will be able to create marketing and messaging strategies to position palliative care as contributing to referrers’ goals and evaluations
