When looking for a place for my mom, I thought that I knew exactly what to look for, how to research the best nursing facilities and memory care, and the right questions to ask. I wholeheartedly believed that my career in clinically operating and owning facilities gave me an exceptional advantage in making choices and providing consistent quality for my mom. My journey transitioning from directing care to delivering care provided a profound awakening within me that I could not have imagined. The voice of the family is enormous in providing patient-centric care. Families are more of a forgiving group then expected, but the question is, should they be?
