Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) billing situations can lead to fear of patient acceptance and billing nightmares for skilled nursing facility providers. However, with the right tools and knowledge, you can feel confident accepting referrals for MSP situations and ensuring payment. We will discuss strategies and claims submission requirements to ensure your claims are clean and receive the most prompt payment possible for MSP billing. During this session, we will review the types of MSP billing situations, associated risk levels with each type, billing requirements for MSP primary and secondary claims submitted to Medicare, and trouble-shooting more difficult tertiary situations.
Who should attend?
Billers, admissions coordinators, billing managers, revenue cycle managers, and other financial managers involved in the billing, collection, and appeals process.
