Summary

This session is an overview of ICD-10 CM coding specific to PDPM. The session will review the basics of ICD-10 coding and explain basic coding conventions. Discussion will occur surrounding the impact of ICD-10 coding related to each component of the Medicare rate. Common examples within each rate components will be discussed to help those responsible for coding unlock the vault of PDPM’s potential.
Attendees will learn common pitfalls with ICD-10 code selection and how strong clinical documentation can protect the facility from takebacks.
