Summary

Polypharmacy is associated with several risks including increased healthcare costs, hospitalizations, and emergency room visits. We know that some medications pose more of a risk to older adults than do others. This learning session will review the most recent update to the Beers Criteria. Our interdisciplinary team can use the Beers Criteria to identify opportunities that lead to the best possible outcomes for the individual by eliminating unnecessary or potentially harmful medications.
